- S8128 (Skoufis) / A8586 (Raga) – Reduces time public must wait to appeal FOIL delays and denials. This bill is supported by Reinvent Albany, Common Cause NY, League of Women Voters of New York State, NYPIRG, and Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. This bill is on today’s Senate GovOps committee agenda.
- S8671 (Hoylman-Sigal) / A9621 (McDonald) – Requires agencies to submit FOIL logs to Committee on Open Government. This bill is supported by Reinvent Albany, Citizens Union, Common Cause NY, League of Women Voters of New York State, NYPIRG, and Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press.
We also urge the Legislature to support the following bill:
- A5357-A (Steck) / S5801-A (Liu) – Strengthens FOIL attorneys’ fees. This bill is supported by Reinvent Albany, Common Cause NY, League of Women Voters of New York State, and NYPIRG. This bill is on today’s Senate GovOps committee agenda.
We urge the bills to be voted out of committee, and passed by the full Senate and Assembly.
