Business subsidies should be transparent, clean, sensible
NY State’s $4.3B/Year in taxpayer subsidies to businesses should be small, smart, fair, clean and open. NY needs “pay to play” controls on people doing business with the state and to make “economic development” more than taxpayer hand-outs to select businesses and industries. This is also true for the local “economic development” authorities handing out another $5.5B in taxpayer subsidies.
