Governor Cuomo Must Promptly Advance NYC’s MTA Board Members

Statement on Mayor de Blasio’s MTA Board Recommendations
We appreciate Mayor de Blasio recommending Lorraine Cortés-Vázquez to the Governor to fill New York City’s fourth seat on the MTA board.

We ask Governor Cuomo to quickly forward the Mayor’s nominees, Lorraine Cortés-Vázquez and Victor Calise, to the State Senate for confirmation.

With these two appointments, New York City’s transit riders will have a stronger voice on the MTA Board.

The MTA Board next meets on Monday February 24th for committee meetings, with a full Board meeting on Wednesday, February 26th.
