Four State Bills Improving Transparency, Accountability, and Campaign Finance
As part of our advocacy for open and accountable state government, Reinvent Albany today issued memos of support for the following bills:
- S7655 (Salazar) / A8022 (Shrestha) – Ends automatic approval of certain gubernatorial appointees.
- S5175 (Gounardes) / A1532 (Wallace) – Requires that contracts are subject to Comptroller review after an emergency exceeds 30 days.
- S983 (Salazar) / A466 (Carroll) – Bans corporate contributions and loans in NY elections.
- S8142 (Comrie) – Rejects Cuomo changes to the Public Authorities Control Board. This bill has been passed by the Legislature and vetoed by the Governor twice.
We urge the bills to be voted out of committee, passed by the full Senate and Assembly, and signed by the Governor.
