Support for Nine Bills Reducing Corporate Giveaways

As part of our advocacy for ending wasteful business handouts, Reinvent Albany reissued memos of support for the following bills:

• S3340 (Gianaris) / A3246 (Dinowitz) – Ends NY’s tax break for Trump’s Opportunity Zone program.
• S132 (Ryan) / A4297 (Bronson) – Prevents IDAs from abating school district taxes.
• S157 (Salazar) / A3063 (Rosenthal) – Repeals certain use tax exemptions for racehorses.
• S3606-A (Krueger) / A3675-A (Simon) – Stop Climate Polluter Handouts Act.
• S4658 (Ryan) / A4196 (Solages) – Prohibits subsidies for e-commerce warehouse facilities.
• S3856 (Hoylman-Sigal) / A3085 (Carroll R) – Ends private jet tax break.
• S3874 (Hoylman-Sigal) / A3057 (Carroll R) – Ends luxury yacht tax break.
• S5563 (Mayer) – Authorizes County Comptrollers to audit IDAs and LDCs.
• S4039 (Skoufis) / A5090 (Solages) – Prohibits public officials from collecting compensation from IDAs.

We urge the Legislature to pass these bills, and the Governor to sign them.

We also reissued a memo of opposition to S256 (Martinez) / A5557 (Jones), which enables IDAs to provide housing tax breaks.
