Support for Four Bills Making NYS Government More Transparent and Accountable

As part of our advocacy for open, accountable NY government, Reinvent Albany reissued memos of support for the following bills:

  • S3849 (Hoylman-Sigal) / A1100-A (Bores) Authorizes Legislature to increase the number of NY Supreme Court justices. Reinvent Albany reiterates our support for this bill, which is essential for reducing the backlog in NY courts. We urge the Assembly to pass it.
  • S8246 (Myrie) Establishes doing-business restrictions in NYS elections. This bill was introduced in the Senate.
  • S4857-C (Skoufis) / A463-B (Paulin) Requires financial disclosure statements of candidates for office to be posted on the Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (COELIG) website. This bill was amended.
  • S2437-A (Krueger) / A3929-B (Dinowitz) – Requires “paid for by” disclosures by influencers supporting campaigns. This bill was amended.

We urge the Legislature to pass these bills, and the Governor to sign them.
