Reinvent Albany, an advocacy group that works for government transparency and fiscal accountability, applauds EPA Region 2’s decision to reject the use of $481 million in Clean Water State Revolving Fund loans for the construction of the new Tappan Zee Bridge. (New NY Bridge.)
As part of a coalition of groups, Reinvent Albany has petitioned the state Thruway Authority and Environmental Facilities Corporation to use the water quality funds for their intended purpose, which is to improve waste water treatment and other projects which directly improve water quality.
