Big Billionaires’ Row Rally Urging Hochul to Sign LLC Transparency Act

Manhattan, New York — Elected officials, watchdogs, unions, and housing groups will gather Wednesday to urge Governor Hochul to sign a high-profile bill that will publish the identities of owners of LLC shell companies, expose bad landlords, and reduce New York’s shameful role in global money laundering and corruption.

37% of Manhattan properties are owned by LLC shell companies – five times the New York State average. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has said that “Central Park skyscrapers” are one reason the US may be “the best place to hide and launder ill-gotten gains.”

Tomorrow, supporters of the LLC Transparency Act will gather at Billionaires’ Row in Manhattan to call for Governor Hochul to sign the bill and end New York’s role in global money laundering and corruption.
