Support for State Bills on IE Transparency and Legislative Parity in Budget Process

As part of our advocacy for open, accountable NY government, Reinvent Albany published and reissued memos of support for the following bills:

• S1030 (Gonzalez) / A3415 (McDonald) – Requires “paid for by” statements on IE committee websites. This is a new memo.
• S945 (Jackson) / A8009 (Lavine) – Amends Article VII of the NYS Constitution to give the Legislature equal powers to the Governor in the budget process. This constitutional amendment was reintroduced in the Assembly by AM Lavine.

We urge the Legislature to pass these bills.
