Opposition to One Bill, Support for Three Strengthening Transparency
Reinvent Albany published a memo of opposition to the following bill:
- S8634 (Fernandez) / A9565 (Taylor) – Excludes areas within 100 feet of places of worship or funeral homes from bus lane enforcement. This is a new memo.
As part of our advocacy for open, accountable NY government, we also reissued memos of support for the following bills:
- S2437-A (Krueger) / A3929-B (Dinowitz) – Requires “paid for by” disclosures by influencers supporting campaigns. On Senate Floor Calendar.
- S1961-A (Gonzalez) / A5739 (Solages) – Secure Our Data Act. Signed by Reinvent Albany and BetaNYC. Passed Senate Internet and Technology Committee, now in Senate Finance.
- S5843 (Skoufis) / A2330 (McDonald) – Requires electronic filing of all lobbying filings. Signed by Reinvent Albany, Citizens Union, Common Cause NY, League of Women Voters of NYS, NYC Bar Association, and NYPIRG. The bill is on the Assembly Floor Calendar.
We urge the Legislature to pass these bills.
