Support for Two Bills Strengthening Transparency and Ethics in NYS Government

As part of our advocacy for open, accountable NY government, Reinvent Albany reissued a memo of support for:

• S5843 (Skoufis) / A2330 (McDonald) – Requires electronic filing of all lobbying filings. Signed by Reinvent Albany, Citizens Union, Common Cause NY, League of Women Voters of NYS, NYC Bar Association, and NYPIRG. This bill has passed the Assembly and is on the Senate Floor Calendar.

We also support:

• S374 (Gianaris) / A7456 (McDonald) – Requires disclosure of lobbying on nominations subject to Senate confirmation. This is a group memo led by NYPIRG and signed by Reinvent Albany, Citizens Union, Common Cause NY, and League of Women Voters of NYS. This bill is on the Senate Floor Calendar.

We urge the Legislature to pass these bills.
