Support for Four Bills Holding Public Authorities More Accountable
As part of our advocacy for accountable public authorities, Reinvent Albany reissued memos of support for the following bills:
- S2377 (Mattera) / A2479 (Colton) – Allows the Governor, Senate, or Assembly to reject new authority subsidiaries.
- S2157 (Comrie) – Requires municipal housing authorities (including NYCHA) to report use of state funding to the Authorities Budget Office.
- S2459 (Comrie) – Repeals 2019 changes to Public Authorities Control Board.
- S3736 (Comrie) – Increases transparency of grant and bond applications to the Public Authorities Control Board.
We urge the Legislature to pass these bills, and the Governor to sign them.
