Small But Important Step Will Allow New Yorkers
To Vote Safely on June 23rd
Reinvent Albany thanks Governor Cuomo for his pragmatic decision to issue an executive order allowing New Yorkers to vote absentee in the June 23rd primaries. The governor is taking a sensible step to give the greatest possible number of New Yorkers a chance to vote despite the deep disruption caused by the COVID-19 emergency.
Voters should never have to worry about risking their health to vote. We encourage the Legislature and Governor to ensure that the process for accessing absentee ballots is as smooth as possible by enabling New Yorkers to apply for ballots online.
