A train rider from Delaware has just been inaugurated President of the United States and a Brooklyn-born bus and subway rider is now taking charge of the Senate.
Join Reinvent Albany, Riders Alliance, and our transit colleagues at 9:30AM on Monday, January 25th on Zoom for coffee with U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to talk about the future of public transportation in New York under a Biden administration.
This past year, New York’s MTA riders faced Doomsday budget plans threatening to cut bus and subway service in half. Thankfully, Senator Schumer fought to include more than $8 billion in emergency aid for working-class MTA riders in the federal coronavirus stimulus spending programs.
We’ll talk about the new federal aid coming to protect public transit riders, public transit’s role in confronting climate change, what the future of public transit could look like under a Biden administration, and Senator Schumer’s leadership of the United States Senate.
