The League of Women Voters of New York State sent a joint letter urging the New York State Independent Redistricting Commission to produce a single set of redistricting maps. Reinvent Albany and Citizens Union both joined the letter.
On January 3rd, the Commission sent two sets of maps to the Legislature: one produced by Republicans and another produced Democrats. The Commission has one more chance to submit maps before the Legislature is allowed to draw its own.
