Reinvent Albany Supports NYS Public Campaign Finance Board’s $114.5M Budget Request for FY 2023-24
Reinvent Albany joined Brennan Center for Justice, along with other groups in the Fair Elections for New York coalition, to release a joint statement in support of the NYS Public Campaign Finance Board’s (PCFB) $114.5 million budget request. This budget would include $100 million for future matching funds for participating campaigns and $14.5 million for program administration. The new state public match program, which was launched on November 9, would provide matching funds to participating NY candidates, beginning with the 2024 legislative elections. We ask that Governor Hochul, Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins, and Speaker Heastie ensure that the PCFB’s requested budget is included in the next state budget to ensure the success of NY’s public financing system.
