Support for Three Bills Boosting NYS Transparency

As part of our advocacy for open, accountable NY government, Reinvent Albany reissued memos of support for the following bills:

• S4479 (Ramos) – Requires lists of debarred companies be published as open data. This bill is on the Senate Floor Calendar.
• S5551 (Cleare) – Requires Empire State Development (ESD) to post video recordings of certain public hearings. This bill passed the Senate and is now in Assembly Government Operations.
• S6261 (Skoufis) – Requires electronic filing of all financial disclosure statements to the Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government. This memo is signed by Citizens Union, the New York City Bar, Common Cause/NY, the League of Women Voters of New York State, and NYPIRG.

We urge the Legislature to pass these bills.
