Support for 13 Bills Strengthening NYS Government

As part of our advocacy for open, accountable government, Reinvent Albany reissued the following memos of support:

  • S4857-C (Skoufis) / A463-B (Paulin) – Requires financial disclosure statements of candidates for office to be posted on the Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government website. Passed the Assembly, now in Senate Ethics and Internal Governance.
  • S9607 (May) / A11143 (Kassay) – Requires agencies to allow FOIL appeals to be done electronically. Passed out of Assembly GovOps and is now in the Ways and Means committee.
  • S2377 (Mattera) / A2479 (Colton) – Allows the Governor, Senate, or Assembly to reject new authority subsidiaries. On the Senate Floor Calendar.
  • S6253-A (Skoufis) / A6741-A (Simone) – Requires State Board of Elections to post sample ballots. On the Senate Floor Calendar.
  • S1087 (Mayer) / A5056 (Jacobson) – Makes local elections commissioners full-time employees full-time employees of the board. On the Senate Floor Calendar.
  • S9557-B (Mayer) / A9559-A (Rajkumar) – Requires lobbyists to report support for or opposition to legislation. On the Senate Floor Calendar. This memo is signed by seven groups.
  • S6745 (Stavisky) / A5733 (Hyndman) – Requires SUNY and CUNY Research Foundations to report on finances and contracts. Passed the Senate, now in the Assembly Higher Education Committee.
  • S4479 (Ramos) / A11209 (Bronson) – Requires lists of debarred companies be published as open data. Passed the Senate, now in the Assembly Labor Committee.
  • S2157 (Comrie) / A10581 (Hyndman) – Requires municipal housing authorities (including NYCHA) to report use of state funding to the Authorities Budget Office. Introduced in the Assembly by AM Hyndman.
  • S10269 (Skoufis) / A4297 (Bronson) – Prevents IDAs from abating school district taxes. Introduced in the Senate by Sen. Skoufis.
  • S10259 (Bynoe) / A10513 (Steck) – Bars online sports betting companies from receiving Excelsior tax credits. Introduced in the Senate by Sen. Bynoe.
  • S5927 (Salazar) / A11040 (Rajkumar) – Creates the nonpartisan legislative budget office. Introduced in the Assembly by AM Rajkumar.
  • S3269 (Cooney) – Establishes NY State Aid and Incentives for Municipalities Redesign Task Force.
